That is truly excellent game design. The interface for the user is incredibly simple and yet there is depth through his or her interaction with the world.
The contrast between the instant accelleration/decelleration, 8 direction only, rigid motion of the ship and the fluid, almost artistic attacks one can create with a little practice is nothing short of beautiful.
So many games here are entertaining, visually pleasing, but nothing new. It takes something different to achieve such complexity through simplicity. This is art.
I liked the humor and the "score" which, without anything to scale it against, is meaningless. If that was supposed to be funny, bravo.
***HOWEVER***
If you're going to try to ridicule my intelligence, please, try to use proper grammar. Lol, but honestly, the feeling of the computer being in control and dominant over the player (which, again, I'm assuming was your aim?) was very well created until it said 'Your single, aren't you?" C'mon, your and you're! Kind of took away from the experience...
Overall, bravo. Also, I make no claim that I didn't make mistakes in typing this since I'm not proof reading it, so I don't want to hear about it, lol.
And PS- Tell the computer I wasn't lying, I'm not single and she's drop dead gorgeous. Love that girl :)
It was supposed to be a bit funny :]
And i'm sorry, i mix 'Your' and 'You're' all the time :[
Truly sorry about that one, there
isn't a spell check on flash :D
Or is there?
I used static text, so, i don't think so.
Anyways, thanks a lot for reviewing ;]
And i'll be sure to tell the computer that you weren't lying. Lol.
Sure it's simple and not much depth but, in response to predator91, I think that was the point. Take a very simple game and add some humor. Think about what the game would have been like if they were just balls. BORING. But no, they were tangerines and it was funny. It's not supposed to provide hours and hours of entertainment. Generally, you should go to a Best Buy and pick up a full length game for that.
I approve and give kudos. Very funny and I felt like I had to survive just to see what the poor little guy said next.
It was mildly entertaining and at least a unique concept, despite the classic method of play.
However, sometimes my screen would go white and that's just unacceptable for a game that you expect me to pay $10 for. Valve is selling the orange box, 5 games, for $49.00. I think you're asking way to much if you think this is worth as much as Portal or TF2. (Either that or Valve is asking too little)
Regardless, it's annoying that you put up this DEMO and not disclose such upfront. For $10, I'd rather go to a bar and take a shot with someone.
I've been a fan of your work for sometime and somehow never watched this one. As ussual, it's great but your comment, though two years old, that "It's a personal subject" prompts me to ask, everything alright over there?
You're a talented artist and certainly a valued member and contributor to the NG community, so if stuff is getting you down remember that there's plenty of people here always willing to lend an ear. (...and in no way did I intend for that to rhyme) Chin up my friend, you've accomplished far more with your work than most ever will, and you are appreciated.
This game is definately awesome but I'm having some trouble with the yellow, if you know what I mean. I've tried every combonation and none of them do anything! Plus, the way it was when I walked in is gone. I fear it's a bug and I'm now stuck.
Anyone who's saying this sucks is obviously missing the point that it's supposed to be a crappy rip off. I thought it was a hilarious exercise in tasteless humor. 5.

Great! I'm impressed!
The fact that you created character development in a little 16x16 elephant is impressive! I felt such victory and I skipped him home.
Bravissimo!

Know what's funny?
Did you actually hold in a poop to make the cartoon? I hope so because I really did hold one in to watch it, lol.

Great little piece.
First off, I'M THE HIGH SCORE! w00t for The Colonel.
Great little piece. My only complaint is not know what the heck the power ups did. I couldn't see any difference with my second one.
Fun little game. Keep 'em coming.
Here's a guide:
The shorter the note, the more rapidly you can fire them (go ahead and bomb the first level, you'll see cause you get really slow powerups)
Dotted notes are the same speed as regular notes, but they go through the enemies instead of just dissapearing when they hit an enemy
Double/Triple notes shoot 2 or 3 notes at a time
